
Most items in the database are freely available online. Where materials are only in print, or access is restricted in some way, this will be noted on the record for the item, using categories such as:
Allows you to search quickly in the box at the right of the screen. Covers the entire content of the research database. Just click on the Submit button.
Allows you to click on any of the words and find articles about those subjects. Larger sized words indicate popular topics
Allows you to limit the search to a particular format, such as a book or journal article.
Look for authors' surnames in any order, and no need to worry about Upper case and click Submit.
Type in part of, or all of, the title of the item you are looking for and click Submit .
The Subjects are in a drop down list under the Title search box. The list provides an A-Z list of descriptive terms that are used in the database. To link through to a list of all the entries in the database with a specific subject heading, click on the subject. You can also select this function in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language by clicking on the language option.
Click on the Subject language option: The subject keywords will appear in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean or use free text to search in the Language box. Choose the language from the drop down box
Allows you to limit the search to a particular format, such as a book or journal article.
Allows you to find an item by its year of publication or within a range of years.
The language button at the top of the screen offers a complete translation of all data on each record.
The small blue translate button on each item will translate just the item title and abstract which will give a general idea of the content of the item.
Both of these translation facilities make use of the automatic Google Translation service, which is imprecise and not a literal translation.
The links on the right hand side of the page will take you to associated websites of interest.
